  • Acupuncture / supplements / natural remedies help anyone?

    Hi all, newbie here. I have GA and phobias. Anyone get help from acupuncture or natural remedies, such as essential oils/supplements? Not interested in pharmaceuticals, as I am very sensitive to them and get bad side effects from any pharma drug. Am currently taking L-Theanine and Adrenal Fatigue supplements, w/o much success. Preferably something that won't make me feel like a zombie..

  • Does anyone else have a fear of elevators?

    If so, what do you do in situations where they're pretty much unavoidable? What is it about them that makes you afraid? I fear the elevator's cables not working properly and the elevator plummeting uncontrollably. I avoid them at all costs, preferring to take 10 flights of stairs if I have to.
  • Fear Of Choking?

    I'm a 14 year old female and anxiety is consuming my life in every way imaginable. For about two years now I've had a fear of choking. I CANNOT eat in public, I go all day without eating at school. Because of this, I have lost a LOT of weight,became anemic and have low blood sugar. I cannot eat when I'm alone, someone has to be in my house. When I eat, my throat tightens and makes it hard to swallow. I am constantly getting food stuck in my throat which causes me to freak out. My parents laugh at me so they're not going to help.. PLEASE help me? How can I deal with my fear of choking?
  • It's Friday The 13th. Are you superstitious?

    I suffer from OCD, and with it comes extreme superstitions for me. I know it's different for every sufferer, but since today is Friday the 13th, I was wondering if anyone out there was superstitious, especially on a day like today? Does it trigger any particular rituals/phobias for you?
  • What do you worry most about?

    I am making a zine for the counseling center here at school that focuses on college students with anxiety disorders. I personally have G.A.D. and this has contributed to a lot of the content in the zine but I would like some outside input. I want this zine to help those who don't suffer from an anxiety disorder understand what its like. I often struggle to explain how it feels to my husband and my family. They don't understand why I can't just "calm down" or "chill out". I need some quotes ( you will remain anonymous of course) from you guys explaining your experiences, what you struggle with most, and what has helped you cope. I'm also looking for input on what images come to mind when you think about your anxiety. For example one of the spreads in the zine is a series of thumbnail images that slowly change from one image to the next to show a "white out". This is something that happens to me when I have a panic attack I white out instead of black out. I would greatly appreciate your contributions and I will post the zine on my profile when its completed. Thanks,
