Yesterday I felt like I was having a heart attack at work, I was not able to breath and I freaked out. I had to go to the hospital. They run all possible test on my including and MRI but they found nothing. The doc suggested it was a panic attack. was it?

Panic attacks cause various symptoms for me. Sometimes it feels like all the blood is rushing away from my face. Or sometimes I feel my ears get hot. I've gotten nausous before. Shaking hands. Many different symptoms.

My heartbeat gets loud and fast. I get dizzy and a derealization feeling and sometimes feel like I could pass out. Sweaty palms and very nervous feeling, Sometimes an instant need to go to the bathroom. If I can get it under control with my breathing and thoughts then it is not so bad. If my thought's fill with worry it can get bad.

It kinda felt like the world was ending, honestly. Like there was no way out. My heart was pounding out of my chest, my head was too light for my body, and all I could think of is how do I get out of this?

One time I hid in the closet and when my wife found me I told her there was to be no more talk about moving. I think I really freaked her out and we didn't talk about moving anymore. I had no way of dealing with what I was facing and PANICKED and the panic grew. I got over it and now realize that I always need to step back and figure out what is going on but that is not always easy to do when other factors are piled on. I had a brief episode a few years ago when I painted myself into a corner at work by developing a loathing for a co-worker and some clients. My doctor put me on cipralex and I got off it as soon as I could but I actually retired a couple years early to get away. That time I just dreaded going to work and got phobic about it and went to see the doctor instead of going to work. Now I prefer not to use any drugs and have got back in touch with a 12 step program (another issue) and find that keeps me on an even keel. I guess I must have had lots of anxiety in my life cause now I remember one time when the anxiety was way high and I couldn't look at my face in the mirror and covered it all up with newspaper except for a little square so I could shave. I was seeing a Psych that time and she told me to face the dread and shout at it "Is that all you have got" . That and a lot of talk and time got me through that era.
