Zoloft and Acid Indigestion

Hey there, Has anyone else experienced acid indigestion/heartburn/acid reflux while taking Zoloft? I take 100mg a day and sometimes I have heartburn so bad I swear I'm about to spontaneously combust. Wishing everyone a mellow day, Scott

I only take 25 mg of Zoloft, but then again I only take one pill at night. I used to take two pills of Zoloft and I had horrible diarrhea for a week. I told my therapist and she lowered the dose. The bad stomach aches and diarrhea went away right away. So I recommend you talk to your doctor about lowering your dose. But heart burn and acid reflex, my word

Hi AnitraKitten, Thanks for sharing your experiences. My annual physical is in a few weeks and I can't wait to talk to my doctor about lowering my dosage or weaning off completely. I've never had reflux before and -whoa- I'd like to stop as soon as possible! Sorry to hear you had stomach trouble as well but am glad to know I'm not alone. Take care, Scott

you can also look up web md and go to medications and type in the drug to see the side effects, and if that is one of them. and discuss what you found.

Hi, I get really bad indigestion from zoloft. I talked to my psychiatrist about it (he is not the original prescribing doctor), and he said he usually prescribes remeron to off set the gastric problems associated with zoloft which oddly enough I'm already taking and I'm still having indigestion. I just take tums and kind of plow through. Someday I would love to get off everything! Good luck, hope you find some relief!
