What is the cause and symptoms of fear from needles..Aichmophobia i think?

Yes you are right, the right name is Aichmophobia , fear of not only needles but any sharp and point headed objects. such as pencils, knifes, needles, protruding corners.

The symptom's are easy to spot they include: Feelings of dread or panic when in the presence of sharp objects Automatic or uncontrollable reactions in addition: Rapid heartbeat Shortness of breath Trembling Extreme avoidance

Thanks vince and rony, that was very helpful, help me further more and help me figure out the causes, so i can avoid it happening to my son as it happened to me. i'd hate it if he suffers from Aichmophobia like me.

There has not been any studies to specify certain causes for it, but some traumatic instances that could have instigated the phobia include painful medical procedures, either that the victim had to endure or simply witnessed.
