is it normal to start gagging during panic attacks?

Sometimes when I get panic attacks I start to gag and have to cough cause I feel like I'm going to vomit. I never have, and I know panic attacks aren't life threatening or anything, but I'm wondering can panic attacks cause gagging, or is that something more asthma-related? It usually happens when I'm anxious and feel like I'm choking

This always was my number 1 anxiety/ Panic symptom. Either I had to gag or I would have gotten sick. Sometimes this did go so far that I even had to throw up.

I would suspect that the surge of adrenaline would do that to you as the anxiety/ panic attacks flips on the fight or flight syndrome. I get very jittery and nauseous when mine are bad. For a bit there i would cough and feel the chest tighten up and feel like i was not breathing deep enough. As a test my doctor gave me a asthma inhaler, i used it on three seperate attacks and it didnt do anything, where as i would take an ativan and that would calm it down. This is just my experiance though, so if your concerned about asthma like i was, i would get a quick check up it does help ease the mind.
