What do people do to keep their mind occupied?

One of the things I'm struggling with, especially since I'm missing work due to my anxiety, is how to keep my mind occupied during the day so that I don't focus on my anxiety and create a nice positive feedback loop. So, I'm curious as to what other people do to distract themselves from their anxiety, especially things that work for them when the anxiety is particularly acute. Thanks!

Here lately with my anxeity being high nothing much has been keeping my mind occupied but the things that I do to try and keep them occupied is reading a book, watching something funny on tv, play a word find, color in an adult coloring book, mediation which sometimes put me to sleep, my friend is trying to get me to do yoga but with me being dizzy it's hard. Also there is that just breath or focus on your breathing. Just something you like doing. Like if it's going for a walk or listen to your favorite music and etc. I hope it helps.

Keeping yourself busy with anything especially something you enjoy. Doing something you can accomplish always will make you feel better. Just keep doing something positive to counter the negative feelings

Hi, I'm new here. What I do is put in wireless headphones in as I make my coffee and dance it helps to start the day. It keeps the anxiousness away. I also sing to the music it really helps. Bye for now.

As with the other answers here, I tend to distract my brain with something. Be it music, working out, some comedy show or watching Twitch or Youtube.. Whatever grabs my attention at the time. It has come with a cost, for my part, though. I'm pretty sure I've grown addicted to instant gratification. I'm so used to trying to deal with my anxiety by distracting myself, that I've grown to not being able to do things that takes time or effort. Instead of doing something that might give me a great feeling of accomplishment, I rather go for something that gives me escapism as fast as possible. It works for my anxiety, but I fear it takes away from so much other stuff I could do.
