Well bi polar disorder, like most anxiety related disorders, is probably caused by a traumatic event, or a disturbed childhood.

As nermo said, its a traumatic event or a childhood event, but make sure to search more into it, because it maybe another reason that needs another approach to face it.

Yes. thats what i meant, if there is another reason, other than the common ones for most anxiety disorders, which specifically cause the Bi Polar disorder?

i always thought Bi Polar was caused through a chemical inbalance in the brain. I admit though i have not done any hard research on this topic. I guess trauma can cause it as i does with many mental illnesses.

Genetic factors contribute substantially to the likelihood of developing bipolar disorder, and environmental factors are also implicated. Bipolar disorder is often treated with mood stabilizing medications and, sometimes, other psychiatric drugs. Psychotherapy also has a role, often when there has been some recovery of the subject's stability. In serious cases, in which there is a risk of harm to oneself or others, involuntary commitment may be used. These cases generally involve severe manic episodes with dangerous behavior or depressive episodes with suicidal ideation. There are widespread problems with social stigma, stereotypes, and prejudice against individuals with a diagnosis of bipolar disorder.[4] People with bipolar disorder exhibiting psychotic symptoms can sometimes be misdiagnosed as having schizophrenia, another, different, serious mental illness.[

Sometimes psychiatrists can't tell between bipolar and add or adhd because they are very related. I tend to go up when I am severely stressed out. And then crash. I make sure that I get enough rest so that I manage the depression and manic episodes. I tend to isolate myself from others because I find that being around people is over stimulating to my mind. I like it quiet and as peaceful as I can be.
