I took the pills years ago for anxiety and they seemed to work. Recently I tried the pills again but they did nothing. It might be because I'm on a couple meds. they might be cancelling the kava kava out.
One herbal that I've been taking for many years is St. John's Wort. Whenever I feel extra anxious or my emotions feel out of control I take a few and feel better. I did need to take it for a week or so before it to start working but now it's almost instant. It's good for falling asleep too. You just have to be careful about being out in the sun. You can get very sun-sensitive.

St johns in my opinion is great stuff.. I have heard for some people it doesn't work, it has worked well for me... Terrys Naturally I think is the best i have tried.. very consistent and if you want less then 900 then cut in half.. I have been on for a few months now.. It has given me back so much, My anxiety has improved so much on it....I wish I found and tried it a year ago I don't think things would have gotten as bad as they did for a while....

If it works, do it. I've not heard that Kava Kava is out, but I DO know that every herb and drug works very differently on each individual's body/brain chemistry. Stick with it, if it helps, but make sure you tell your doc, as I've heard horror stories about Rx meds mixed with herbal supplements causing crazy side effects.....make sure you ask, so you don't hurt yourself, okay????

I tried Kava Kava and it did not do anything for me but that is most likely due to my meds. I did not have any adverse reaction either. I bought the root ground it and made tea. I tried it over the course of a few weeks in stronger doses each day. There are some good sites that sell it and show you how to properly prepare it.
