Yes its completely normal. When scared or having panic the brain sends your blood to your major organs to prepare for the fight or flight. When this happens your hands and feet can become numb, tingly or cold.

My legs don't feel tingly but they do feel strange, I often think they are going to go out from under me. This has never happened and I always make sure I keep walking and not let the anxiety win.

Your sympathetic nervous system is going into the flight mode...because you feal scared...It is normal and the best way to fight /address anxiety is to gain knowledge, know you are ahving anxiety, don't fight it or try to adjust it, just aknowledge it and know that you are ok. When you focus on it and try to adjust it..the fear it just adds fuel to the fire. Honestly...go on the net and find out as much about anxiety as you can...there are also great books out there.
