Yes it can, it can also make you over eat. Most people struggling with depression ten not to eat. I know because I have this same issue.

I am with NotSoRosie. When I am depressed I can't eat because my stomach is in knots. When I do eat I feel sick. When I have mild depression I over eat because I find comfort in food.

I'd say yes, when I had my first breakdown I just couldn't eat, my weight went down to 77lb,was wriggled with Dystonia had to be kept alive basically with liquid food supplements. Still don't eat a lot, it's taken me seven years to put 17lb back on. even now when depression really sets in I have to have liquid meals.

Yes, but like it's been said before it can also make you over eat it all depends on your mind.
