I've always been a procrastinator....I do the same thing as you. I get a wild hair up my butt to paint, then after a couple days the hair goes away. My family room has been half painted for like 2 years now. My hallway has been 'mostly painted' for 3 years...I never finished the base boards. I have all these great ideas for home improvements but it's doing them them and completing them that is a challenge for me. I think it's just me....I've always been that way, even before meds. But I've decided that, when my hubby is done with school this summer, I'm going to get a huge list of stuff done...I'll have to have his help otherwise I'll never do all the things on the list I want to do, I need his motivation. When my hubby and I were separated, one of my best friends and I would help each other out at each other's houses...we'd help each other paint, or install flooring or repair things, etc. It was great fun and we got alot done...we didn't need men to do the work that us girls did all on our own!! We'd always end our 'work' days with a few cocktails! It helped and motivated both of us to do that. Do you have someone you can do that with??

This sounds like it could also be ADD primarily inattentive (in addition to depression). The sleeping when you should be working, letting projects sit around for weeks or years and not finishing them... i am the same EXACT way. Maybe talk to your pdoc to see what they say. I'm going next month.

ADD can cause depression and anxiety. And it doesn't mean you are hyperactive.. it means you can't control where you put your attention, so it runs wild and you never get anything done, or it just sits there and does nothing. I sit for hours on my computer planning to get up and do the dishes, or paint.. or anything.. but I just can't get everything straight in my head to do it.. so it's easier to sleep or surf the web.

    Just an idea...
