i dont know for sure but im pretty sure there is. I dont know if it the exact term a pro would use but i do suffer from somthing that is pretty much an adult attachmet disorder. im 27 and live with my parents and because im agoraphobic rely on them for a lot of things.
when they go abroad i get a lot of anxiety and normally have my big bro come up from london. if they are in this country im not to bad beacuse they can get home easy.
i dont even know why it happens i dont know what i think is going to happen.

Interesting. I have always felt anxious when my parents leave for a trip. I am older and have my own family but still get these feelings. When I visit my parents I always feel anxious when I leave their house. I have wondered the same thing myself. My feeling is that my mother was very protective of me and she worried a lot about her own anxieties of the world. I think I learned from her that the world is unsafe. Now that I am aware and listen to her talk I understand better. She uses phrases like be careful, you shouldn't do that, that is dangerous. That is how I feel and she still is reinforcing those feelings. At the same time I feel very safe when I am around her. I think you are correct in saying that even though we are not children we can still have separation anxiety with one or both parents. My doctor told me to start looking at the world with my own grown up perspective and start making my own decisions whether being out is that dangerous or not. This is new for me but it seems to help and certainly is giving me a healthier perspective of the world. Hang in there.
