I'm pretty sure it just depends on what you're using it to treat, because it can be used for a lot of different reasons. But the dose range is from 25 to 200mg. I don't think there's any specific "advised" amount to take or not to take..because it depends on the individual's reaction to the drug. I was prescribed Celexa, and starting at the lowest dose up to the highest I wasn't reacting to it, so my doctor changed me over to Zoloft (sertraline), gradually increasing my dose up to 200 mg, and it's working pretty well for me.
